Entertainer Stefan Raab show returns to the show world with another idea. The 53-year-old is producing a late night show this year exclusively for the streaming service TVNOW, as the media group RTL Germany announced on Monday in Cologne.
He will not be the moderator of the show. “Stefan Raab will be responsible for the Late Night Show as a producer behind the scenes. He will be giving the moderation to other surprising hands,” it said. TV NOW is the media group’s streaming platform.
New Raab show “FrameMaker”: only the performance is decisive
NOW co-managing director Henning Tewes said: “In his long career as a pioneer and creative head, Stefan Raab played a key role in shaping the entire German show landscape. We are therefore only too happy to offer him the playground where he can really let off steam.”
For Raab, it is the first production for the media group. The entertainer was quoted in the message as saying: “I’ve been complaining about other people’s programs for 20 years. Now I’ve found that complaining is of no use, I have to help personally.”
It had already been announced in June that Raab would be the source of ideas and producer of a new music show (“FrameMaker”) for competitor ProSieben. Candidates are supposed to sing under a soundproof dome.
Raab has become known as a TV presenter and music expert in recent decades. For example, he moderated the “TV Total” format for years. Raab withdrew from the screen years ago.
