Wittek moves to Arnhem Maximilian Wittek has found a new club after his departure from the Greuther Fürth association. The left-back, who had last worn the shirt of the second division soccer team for three years, is moving to Vitesse Arnhem in the Dutch Eredivisie, where he will receive a three-year contract.
Maximilian Wittek was unemployed for a few days. He was last listed on the popular portals as a clubless football professional after he did not want to extend his contract with the shamrock. It was clear, however, that this would not last long. For the left defender, there were always interested parties during his three years in the Fürth jersey, now the 24-year-old wanted to see something new.
He has already done that, at least if you believe the words of Wittek on the homepage of the Dutch first division club Vitesse Arnhem. “The first impressions I got from the club, the stadium, the facilities and the city are very promising,” said Wittek on Tuesday evening, when the Eredivisie club introduced him as the first new signing.
Wittek has signed a three-year contract with the first division club, who finished seventh in the 19/20 season. “I am looking forward to playing at the highest level in the Netherlands,” said Wittek. “Apart from that, I think Vitesse’s style of play suits me well.” In a video, he introduced himself to the fans in Arnhem – and described himself as a fast player, which is a good thing for a club that has the word speed in its name.
